Maria Borgersen is a native Swede, born in Sweden and raised in Norway, where she grew up surrounded by boats along the stunning coast of Telemark. She has spent countless summers sailing the beautiful Scandinavian waters, frequently crossing between Norway, Denmark, and Sweden, with a special love for the enchanting Koster archipelago in Sweden. With her practical mindset and passion for detail, Maria excels at serving customers perfectly, bringing warmth, precision, and a genuine love for boating to every interaction.

Hello from the co-skipper side of things – I’m Maria Kristina Borgersen, Jarle’s partner in life, on the water, and in business.
A native Swede, born in Sweden and raised in Norway, I grew up surrounded by boats along the stunning coast of Telemark. For 15 years I have worked as a teacher, where I developed strong skills in communication, patience, and guiding people – qualities that have proven invaluable when handling customers with care and precision. I truly love creating positive, smooth experiences for everyone I meet, and I bring that same dedication to every client interaction.

My greatest passion has always been the sea and everything it offers: the freedom of being on the water, the joy of swimming in clear summer seas, lazy days on the beach, and embracing the good life that comes with living close to nature. I’ve spent countless summers sailing the beautiful Scandinavian waters, frequently crossing between Norway, Denmark, and Sweden, with a special love for the enchanting Koster archipelago in Sweden. Those coastal adventures have deepened my respect for practical seamanship and the little details that make boating safe, comfortable, and truly enjoyable.

Today, I’m excited to bring my practical mindset, attention to detail, and genuine enthusiasm for the boating lifestyle into our yacht brokerage. While Jarle focuses on the big-picture sailing stories, valuations, and international networking, I handle the behind-the-scenes magic: thorough boat preparations, photo and video coordination (I love capturing the real feel and beauty of a vessel), client follow-ups, and ensuring every deal runs smoothly and stress-free.

We sail Maja (our 1982 Nauticat 38) together whenever we can – sharing sunsets, troubleshooting systems, and laughing at the inevitable “boat surprises”. Together we offer honest, no-nonsense advice from people who truly live and love the lifestyle.
