Mission

Helping people over 50 leave the hamster wheel — while they still can

Too many people over 50 spend their best remaining years still trapped in the hamster wheel — working hard and postponing the life they actually want. We believe that life can start earlier. A simpler, freer life is possible while you still have the health and energy to enjoy it. A well-chosen boat can be one of the best ways to make that shift.

My own decision

At 53, in 2025, I decided to stop waiting. Together with Maria I left the traditional path, sold my house, and moved aboard our 1982 Nauticat 38, Maja. Not as a holiday. As a real change of life.

We document the whole process openly on our YouTube channel and on this website: the real engineering work on the boat, the honest costs, the daily realities of living aboard, and the small freedoms that gradually replace the old pressure.

Why a boat?

A boat forces simplicity. It limits what you can own. It rewards practical skills. And it gives you the freedom to move when you want to.

For many people our age and above, a solid, comfortable motorsailer like a Nauticat can be a very realistic way to step out of the hamster wheel without needing a fortune.

What we share

On our YouTube channel and on this website we show both sides:

  • The practical side: systems, upgrades, maintenance, real costs and honest assessments of the boat.
  • The deeper side: what it actually feels like to change your life earlier than most people expect.

No polished highlight reel. Just the real process.

Who this is for?

This is for people who feel the same restlessness I felt — tired of postponing life, still with the energy to make a change, and looking for practical information and honest stories rather than just dreams.

If that sounds like you, you are in the right place.

We are not experts at living the perfect life. We are simply two people who decided to stop waiting.

You can follow the journey on YouTube, or get in touch if you are thinking about a similar step — whether that means buying or selling a boat, or just wanting to talk about the practical side of making the change.
