We are a small team who combine long experience with boats, honest communication, and a shared belief that life can start earlier than most people expect.
Maria Kristina Borgersen
Maria grew up along the coast of Telemark in Norway, with boats as a natural part of life. She has spent many summers sailing between Norway, Denmark and Sweden, and has a special love for the Koster archipelago.
With 15 years as a teacher, she brings patience, clear communication and a practical mindset to everything she does. In Sailing Maja and the brokerage work she handles the important details: preparing boats, coordinating photos and videos, following up clients, and making sure the process stays calm and well organised.

Jarle “Charlie” Karlsrud
Jarle has been around boats his whole life. At the age of 30 he sailed a 32-foot boat from Norway to the Caribbean and back with his young family — two Atlantic crossings that later became the basis for two books about sailing.
After returning home he built and ran a successful company in the marine industry for more than 16 years before selling it to spend more time on the water. Today he lives aboard the Nauticat 38 Maja and documents the real process of living and sailing on an older motorsailer through the YouTube channel Sailing Maja.
As a yacht broker he focuses on honest valuations, clear communication and boats that are suitable for long-distance cruising and liveaboard life.
Rune Riktor
Rune is the founder and CEO of Skippern Yachts. With more than 20 years of experience as a yacht broker, he has built a strong reputation for straightforward advice and international sales of quality boats.
He specialises in Nordic-built, classic and long-distance capable yachts, and is known for matching people with the right boat rather than simply closing a deal.
Rune keeps the larger brokerage operation running smoothly so that Jarle and Maria can focus on the boats and the clients.
How we work together
Sailing Maja is the public face of our own boat life and the YouTube channel. The practical work of helping people buy and sell boats is done through Skippern Yachts, with the Norwegian company Telltale AS handling the formal side of the business.
We believe the best advice comes from people who actually live the life they talk about.
